Sicily is widely known for the sea – that goes without saying. Crystal clear waters surround this wonderful island and wash different types of beaches: sandy or pebbly, flat or with cliffs overlooking the sea… Different beaches with something in common: a breathtaking sea view in Sicily.
We can’t list them one by one, but we’ll show you some of our favourite ones. Which one do you prefer?
Castellammare del Golfo and Scopello
These two little marine towns are located in the North-West and offer some of the most astonishing views and beaches of Sicily. For example the magnificent Stacks, which became the very symbol of Scopello. But also Guidaloca Beach, Cala Rossa, Cala Bianca or Cala Mazzo di Sciacca.

Zingaro Nature Reserve
This beautiful nature reserve is located on the entire territory between Castellammare and San Vito Lo Capo.
It has seven coves with pebbly beaches and unparalleled crystal clear waters: Cala Tonnarella dell’Uzzo, Cala dell’Uzzo, Cala Marinella, Cala Berretta, Cala della Disa, Cala del Varo, Cala Capreria.
The protected land is perfect both for snorkeling lovers – thanks to the extraordinary seabeds – as well as for hiking lovers (you can enjoy the 7 km long coastline and the beautiful surrounding nature).

San Vito Lo Capo Beach
San Vito Lo Capo hosts the International CousCous Fest. Its white beach and the blue sea have nothing to envy to the Caribbean! Part of the beach is free but there are also different beach clubs where you can totally relax.
Scala dei Turchi
Located near Agrigento, Scala dei Turchi offers one of the most evocative Sicilian views. It is a white cliff which stands out against the blue sea. Over the time, it was slowly turned into a sort of natural staircase by the atmospheric agents.
Portopalo Beaches
Portopalo di Capo Passero is a small town in the province of Siracusa which has various beautiful beaches – like Carratois or Scalo Mandrie.
Portopalo is famous for two tiny islands in front of its coast: Capo Passero Island and Isola delle Correnti (Island of Currents). When the tide is low you can easily walk to them from the beach.
The name of the second one is due to the mixing of two different currents – those of the Ionian and the Mediterranean Sea. The mixing of different streams and the strong wind exposure create the perfect conditions for windsurfing lovers.
Vendicari Nature Reserve
This Reserve extends from Noto to Pachino and offers a great variety of animals and landscapes, which includes a rich vegetation and different beaches, namely: Eloro, Marianelli, Calamosche, Vendicari and San Lorenzo.

Isola Bella – Taormina
This fabulous tiny Island faces the city of Taormina and is connected to the beach by a walkable narrow strip of sand. Thanks to one of the former owners of the Island you will admire a flourishing vegetation and rare exotic plants. One of the most peculiar beaches of Sicily.
Spiaggia dei Francesi (Cove of the Frenchmen)
Located in Mongerbino (near Palermo), this enchanting beach is consituted mainly by rocks and overlooks a crystal clear sea.
Cefalù beach
Cefalù is a tourist town near Palermo which is located at the foot of a promontory. It has various beautiful beaches, some sandy and some pebbly. The seafront is particularly fascinating: a sandy beach and a blue sea in the front – and a view on the rocky promontory and the colourfoul houses behind.
