Located in the heart of the Alcamo DOC in SICILY, it is formed by four corporate bodies belonging to the Rocca, Valdibella and Piraino districts.
The fertile soils with high agronomic potential are located at about 250 meters above sea level.
The vineyards until the 90’s were exclusively made from white berry varieties including the Cataratto Bianco Comune, the Catarratto Bianco Lucido and the Tuscan Trebbiano.
The D.M. of September 30, 1999 changed the denomination of the “White Alcamo” DOC wines to “DOC Alcamo” and its production specification that expanded the ampelographic platform by envisaging the cultivation of black berry varieties, given the remarkable vocational nature of the territory.
The company has therefore changed its appearance and today most of the vineyards are made of black berry varieties including Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Nero D’Avola and Pinot Nero.
Among the white berry grapes are cultivated the Grillo and the Zibibbo.
The breeding system is moderately reduced in order to reduce the excessive vigor of the plants by favoring a just fruiting.
